Laser therapy targets the hemoglobin in blood vessels for the purpose of selectively destroying them while leaving the surrounding skin intact. The purpose of this treatment is to diminish abnormal blood vessels seen in spider veins, leg veins, and other cutaneous vascular lesions. Patients start with a package of three treatments, but depending on the response more might be needed.
